This fine group met for an early-morning Thanksgiving Day workout as a way to jump start our day and even more so, as a way for me to thank them for choosing to train with me. I am inspired by and honored to work with my clients, and I am motivated by them to bring my best to all of their sessions.
Courtney is a startlingly good personal trainer. Like many personal trainers, she is friendly, upbeat, knowledgeable, and entirely non-judgmental. Two features set her apart in my mind. First, she does every exercise with you. This means that you never feel like an exhibit; rather, you feel like you are training with a friend (you are). It also means that you always have a clear picture of what you are trying to do to augment her detailed verbal descriptions. Second, she has an amazing ability to work around any physical impediments you are experiencing. She always has a workout in mind when you start. But if your knee is sore, or you pulled a muscle in your back, or you are in a brace for six weeks, she can on-the-fly reconfigure the workout so that it keeps each of your problem areas safe while still getting an effective workout. These attributes make her a truly outstanding trainer, and I recommend her wholeheartedly.
I have relied on Courtney to get myself in gear to build and maintain physical fitness for nearly a decade. She's seen me through minor surgery recoveries, has helped me overcome plateaus, and given me confidence to push my limits. Her positive approach has been infectious and her healthy doses of encouragement have helped me become stronger and more fit than I was 20 years ago. Courtney is incredibly in tune with your individual strengths, pacing, and limits to ensure a maximum workout that will keep your energy and outlook positive long after each workout.
I love working out with Courtney. She is so inspirational with every workout, coaxing me into moving even on days when I definitely wouldn’t have worked out otherwise. Particularly during this pandemic, workouts with her have been vital to keeping me balanced and laughing – and coming back for more. Whether on Zoom or outside in the park, workouts with Courtney are the high points of my week.
Just a note to tell you how much I love and appreciate your class. You are so flexible and take me as I am, which can sometimes mean switching days. This is hugely helpful. I always feel great after your class and I am always glad that I went to class! Thanks and hugs!
I have known Courtney for many years but it was only since Covid hit and I could not go to the gym that I started work with her as a personal trainer. She not only provides a comprehensive training program but she seems to have the ability to keep talking even as she exercises with you thus both showing the technique and describing it at the same time. She’s incredibly knowledgeable about her craft and I have seen her customize workouts on the fly for individuals when in a group class.
